Jessica is a singer, songwriter and vocal coach based in New York City. She is a frequent collaborator on the scene and co-founder of the alternative-electronic band Satellite Mode. Carvo is currently working on her first solo release since late 2014, due out in 2020.
NPR called Carvo "charming and soulful", while composer Randy Newman said her version of his song, "Feels Like Home" was the best he had ever heard it sung.
Carvo's songwriting journey began in 2012 after working for the Manhattan/Blue Note label singing classical crossover on PBS Television. Following a stay in Los Angeles to sing lead vocals with her group The Deltones on NBC's "The Sing-Off", Jessica moved to New York City to create original music and hone her skills in local venues.
"Nightfall" (the EP), was Jessica's first studio recorded EP, released independently on December 16th, 2014. Carvo co-produced the EP with producer Andrew Sheron and her live show band of three years. Her first official music video "Nightfall" directed by Joel Gallen, was released in March of 2015.
Beginning in 2015, Carvo poured more focus into her alternative electronic side project, Satellite Mode after it went viral on Spotify multiple times and saw enough traction on the internet to send the act on national tours.
Jessica has had the honor of performing with and for artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Carrie Underwood, Stevie Nicks, The Band Perry, GUSTER and Marc Broussard.
Most recently, Jessica worked with Helmut VonLichten to record trailer music for the 2017 NCAA Championship game on CBS. Her vocal performance of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” also produced by VonLichten, was featured in Disney’s Freeform holiday film “No Sleep ‘Til Christmas” in December of 2018.
Carvo’s next solo effort is due out in 2020.
